Last weekend we teamed up with Michael Sutton Cellars to help the Anchorstone team celebrate the end of their summer season. An evening of great food and wine was enjoyed by all!
Where did the summer go? September is here and things start to calm down a little bit, but we finished the Wedding season off last weekend at East Soar Farm near Salcombe. A simple rustic wedding for 100 people, with a buffet lunch followed by a hog roast in the evening.
Wow a very busy few weeks with us, catering for various occasions. Weddings, Dinners and a Private house party in Salcombe for a week. It's always great to do different types of events and means we get the opportunity to cook in varied settings as well!
Our week at The Moult in Salcombe was a lovely way to enjoy what seemed to be the last few days of summer. We catered for 24 people starting with Sunday lunch, then on through the week with various canapes, local lamb, red mullet escabeche, and chateaubriand with all the trimmings.
Finishing the week off with a bbq overlooking the sea, not bad really!
A beautiful traditional marquee setting was the venue for last weekend's wedding reception near Daccombe. Rustic tables with benches ran the length of the marquee, off set with stunning hanging floral arrangements by the Brides mother. The wedding party enjoyed a selection of canapes followed by informal tapas style platters.
Sorry to bang on about the weather, but we're just not used to it!
Another fantastic wedding at Gurrow Point this weekend, in a stunning clear roofed marquee. Drinks were served in the much needed shade, followed by canapes and local roast lamb, roasted new potatoes and summer salads. A selection of desserts and local cheese ended the meal perfectly.
Unfortunately due to a certain football fixture on Sunday 15th, we have along with Nkuku decided to cancel our pop up. Don't panic though we're doing another one on Sunday 9th September at 12.30pm, all the details can be found on the Nkuku website.
What truly amazing weather for a wedding at Gurrow Point Dittisham last weekend. The summer season at it's very best. A 100 guests feasted on a variety of canapes, followed by local legs of lamb slow roasted and finished on the bbq, carved by the guests at the tables. All held in a beautiful teepee.
Serin & Simon will be cooking up a storm at the Nkuku Lifestyle Store in their beautiful courtyard on Sunday 15th July from 12.30pm.
What's not to love? A 3 course summer menu to include fresh Brixham pollack with saffron, parsley & shallot vinaigrette followed by a vanilla petit pot with raspberries.

Thank you so much for making my husbands 80th Birthday such an enormous success with your wonderful catering. Your food recommendations were perfect and our guests loved it.
People also commented on the kindness and thoughtfulness of your staff, with which I fully agree, a great team.
We were also amazed with the efficiency of your clearing up, when we realised the next morning that there was absolutely nothing to do apart from put the furniture back. I find it hard to believe how you cannot leave a trace that you have been other than lots of happy and satisfied people.

Another great evening working alongside Michael Sutton Cellars launching their fantastic new space 'Riversbridge Stables' A lovely light, airy space for private hire, which seats 24 for dinner, or alternatively a reception for 40 standing. It's set in a stunning location just outside Dartmouth.

What a stunning setting for a Bank Holiday weekend wedding held over 2 days near Slapton. The sun shone, the guests danced and everyone had a fantastic time! We had worked with the couple over the last few months, choosing the menu and putting together food that fitted with whole feel of the wedding. Dartmouth crab, summer salads and local pork. The photos tell the story of the weekend.... oh and yes the Wedding cake was a pork pie made by Serin!
Well what a difference a week makes in good old blighty! Last week wellies, this week Factor 50 sun cream. In true style British style we wheeled out the barbeque to cater for a house warming party. The guests feasted on fish brochettes, marinated rump steak skewers, Devon Blue rarebit bites, scotch eggs and various salads.
A slightly soggy start to the wedding season, but this is Devon after all! Wellies at the ready, we set up the marquee for 165 guests.
A selection of 1700 canapes, followed by sirloin of beef (carved at the table by the guests) accompanied by warm seasonal salads.
At our lastest collaboration with friends Michael Sutton's Cellars, at Riversbridge, as part of the Dartmouth Food Festival auction prize winners dinner, we put together a five course seasonal tasting menu with wines to match. From our Devon suppliers we served canapes, Devon crab salad, followed by lamb finishing with lemon tart.
Where do we start? This is Dartmouth Fine Foods first Blog on our brand new website, and we would just like to say hello and welcome to everybody.
Having had an extremely busy first half of the year, finding time to get the website up and running has proved to be a bit more of a challenge than anticipated. We think it looks great though, and would like to thank Howard and Paul at Cloudberry Digital for their work on creating the site and Sue and Terry at Original Image for the fantastic photography.
The rest of the year is looking good with lots of parties and several weddings booked, but we are also planning some very interesting ‘Pop Up Suppers’, watch this space!
