We hope this finds you well and not to frustrated with the current restrictions. This lockdown seams to be far harder with damp weather, dark evenings and very little to look forward to. With this in mind We've put together a three-course menu, with choices, to make your upcoming Valentine’s evening extra special. The menu is as follows, and the cost is £65 for two. Delivery will be on Friday 12th February.
Fish Gratin – scallop, pollack, smoked haddock & prawns in a creamy sauce with a crispy crust, served in a scallop shell
Chicken Liver Parfait – silky smooth parfait with red onion confit and sourdough
Beef Wellington – fillet steak, mushroom duxel, savoury pancake & all butter puff pastry with a red wine & brandy jus
Salmon En Croute – Loch Duart salmon, cream cheese with capers, mustard, dill & lemon zest wrapped in all butter puff pastry with a watercress sauce
Both served with parmentier potatoes and sautéed green beans with shallot & garlic butter
Rich Dark Chocolate Tart – served with chocolate dipped strawberries and Chantilly cream
You can also add a bottle of pink fizz – Boschendal Estate Rose @ £13.50, or Champagne Georges Vesselles Grand Crus Brut Rose @ £34.00 – both from our friends at Michael Suttons Cellar.
Perhaps a 3 course meal is not for you, our Grazing Fish Box is an alternative and would be perfect with a bottle of fizz.
As I mentioned in my last blog, we’re working on new dishes, which are going very well – so watch this space.
JANUARY FEAST @ HOME – Last orders please!
The January Feast @ Home will be delivered on Friday 22nd January, so last orders by Wednesday 20th please!
For me I have spent the weekend painting my house. Having just had a new roof we made the decision a coat of paint was sensible as the scaffolding was in place. Home schooling is a little easier this time with a ridged timetable. All lessons are live online with a register being taken at the start. We have seen primroses and snowdrops out around the farm with the daffodils popping up all over, spring is coming thank goodness.
Keep safe and well, bon appetite. Serin x
