Wine Pairing fun

This week we've been mostly.....

pairing up some of the fabulous wines from Dartmouth's very own wine merchant, Michael Sutton Cellar, with some of our best selling meals - would be rude not to :) .


Our best selling pie Chicken, Ham Hock and Leek, goes really well with Bellingham Pear Tree Chenin Blanc from South Africa. This Chenin greets you with a burst of passionfruit, pineapple & honeydew melon. Excellent match with our creamy pie, the vibrancy cuts through the richness of the sauce and the 10% of Viognier in the blend is like a little seasoning that rounds off the wine nicely! £8.25 from Michael Suttons Cellar


Why not try our rich, melt in the mouth Beef Bourguignon with a bottle of Bellingham Homestead Shiraz from South Africa. A deep, dark, savoury red full of deep black fruit flavours, humming with oak, full bodied and robust, stands up very well against our meaty stew. £11.00 from Michael Suttons Cellar. 


We have been receiving rave reviews about our Fish Pie, a great eat with a bottle of Jean Curial Chardonnay from France. With its distinct purity of fruit and balancing, it's a real match for the richness of the dish. This un-oaked Chardonnay is so nice and crisp. Golden in colour & refreshingly light and full of apple & zesty citrus notes. £9.50 from Michael Suttons Cellar.
